The invention relates to a new bath for the cathodic deposition of new ternary bronze alloys and also to objects or articles coated with the alloys. In addition to copper and tin, the electrolyte composition comprises indium as simply the third metallic alloying constituent. Using the new alloy, it is possible to deposit high-gloss, white, yellow or red deposits or coatings of high corrosion resistance on the objects, in particular articles of jewellery and electronic components, which are free from toxic heavy metals. A ternary copper-tin-indium alloy is deposited directly on an optional copper layer. This alloy layer can be the end layer, or can be coated further, e.g. with palladium, gold or other precious metals, such as rhodium, ruthenium, or with alloys thereof. |
