The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device that uses a color filter in which a specific liquid crystal composition and a specific pigment are used. The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device that reduces the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer, prevents increases in ion density (ID), and solves display defect problems such as white spots, uneven orientation, and image burn-in. As a result of having the characteristics of reducing the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer, preventing increases in ion density (ID), and minimizing the occurrence of display defects such as image burn-in, the liquid crystal display device is particularly useful as an IPS-mode or FFS-mode liquid crystal display device for driving an active matrix and can be applied to liquid crystal display devices such as liquid crystal TVs, monitors, portable telephones, and smartphones. |
