titleOfInvention | Method for preparing devices for detecting hydrogen at ambient temperature |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for preparing devices for detecting hydrogen gas in air or nitrogen atmospheres, over a wide range of concentrations and at ambient temperature. The method comprises the controlled deposition of carbon nanotubes and the subsequent incorporation of mono- and bi-metallic nanoparticles which promote interaction between the gas and the carbon nanotubes and which generate an increased sensitivity of the device. The optimisation of the experimental parameters relating to the preparation of the devices, including, inter alia, the composition of the metallic nanoparticles, the quantity of metal deposited, and the conditions of preparation of the carbon nanotube suspensions, allows for the production of systems with increased sensitivity, reduced response and recovery times, and which are functional over a wide range of hydrogen concentrations. |
