titleOfInvention Diindolylmethane-based medicinal agent and use thereof to treat influenza and viral respiratory infections
abstract The invention relates to the field of medicine, more specifically pharmacology, and can be used to treat influenza and viral respiratory infections. The aim of the present invention is to broaden the range of agents available for treating acute respiratory diseases and influenza infection by developing an oral medicinal agent based on 3,3-diindolylmethane (DIM) for the treatment of such diseases. A medicinal agent for the treatment of influenza and viral respiratory infections contains 3,3-diindolylmethane, a type A fish oil and an adjuvant in the following ratio: 9-20% by weight 3,3-diindolylmethane; 1-10% by weight type A fish oil; and the remainder adjuvant. The adjuvant contained in the agent is preferably polysorbate 80. It is proposed that this agent for the treatment of influenza and viral respiratory infections be used in an amount of from 1 to 10 mg of 3,3-diindolylmethane per kilogram of patient body weight.
