abstract The present invention provides a new synthetic process of PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane)-based polyrotaxane, which comprises a step of reacting pseudopolyrotaxane consisting of PDMS and CDs (cyclodextrins) with an end-capping agent, by (a) a radical coupling reaction, or (b) a microwave coupling reaction. By the method of the present invention, PDMS-based polyrotaxane can be obtained with high filling ratio of CDs on the PDMS chain.
