abstract Described herein is a polyolefin-soluble chromophore, which can be described as comprising the reaction product of a terminally functionalized polyolefin having a Mn of at least 300g/mole; and a chromophore having a complementary functional moiety, or a chromophore-forming moiety; wherein a preferred terminally functionalized polyolefin is a vinyl-terminated polyolefin such as a vinyl-terminated propylene-oligomer, co-oligomer, polymer or copolymer, or ethylene-oligomer, co-oligomer or polymer. The vinyl-terminated polyolefin may be further functionalized to replace the vinyl group with a primary linker, forming the terminally functionalized polyolefin, then combined with a chromophore or a chromophore-forming moiety.
