abstract | Provided is a polyester compound exhibiting high heat-resistance. The polyester compound is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula (1) and a compound represented by formula (2). (In formula (1): R 1 represents a hydroxy group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, a cycloalkyloxy group, an aryloxy group, a group represented by the formula -OM, or a group represented by the formula -O-Si(R 2 ) 3 , where M is a metal atom, and R 2 is an alkyl group; X Dc represents a divalent aromatic group which may have a substituent; Y Dc represents a group represented by the formula -O-, a group represented by the formula -N=N-, a carbonyl group, a single bond, or an ethenylene group which may have a substituent; and n Dc represents an integer of 0-2. The two R 1 s may be the same or different. If there is a plurality of X Dc s, these may be the same or different, and if there is a plurality of Y Dc s, these may be the same or different.)
