abstract The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drug coating layer for which toxicity is low and stenosis inhibition rate is high when a drug is coated on a medical instrument and delivered into a body, and a medical instrument using same. Provided is a drug coating layer having a morphological form comprising multiple long crystals of a water-insoluble drug, each crystal of which has an independent long axis, on a substrate surface. The long axes of the long crystals are substantially linear and the long axes of the long crystals intersect with the plane of the substrate to form angles in a specified range.
