Animal hair fiber identification method |
abstract |
Provided is an animal hair fiber identification method in which the identification operation is comparatively easy and objective, and by which identification can be made without relying on the experience and knowhow of the inspector and accurate identification results can be obtained even when pretreatment and dyeing have been applied to the animal hair fibers. The method involves an extraction step for extracting the proteins which form the animal hair fiber from the animal hair fiber to be inspected, an electrophoresis step for obtaining an electrophoretic pattern by separating the extracted proteins using an electrophoresis means, and an identification step for identifying the species of the animal serving as the origin of the inspected animal hair fiber or the mixture ratio thereof by comparing the obtained electrophoretic pattern with a pre-prepared animal hair fiber electrophoretic pattern for which the species and mixture ratio of the animal serving as the origin is already known. Furthermore, in order to perform highly accurate identification, a mass spectrometry step is combined for analyzing the peptides obtained from a specific band of the electrophoretic pattern. |
