abstract | A contact lens and a method for manufacturing thereof are provided. The contact lens has a silicone contact lens base material and an amorphous carbon film formed in the silicone contact lens base material. The amorphous carbon film of the contact lens is formed by subjecting the silicone contact lens base material to a plasma polymerization under an atmosphere of a mixed gas comprising a hydrocarbon gas and an oxygen-containing gas. The contact lens has excellent oxygen permeability and a high refractive index. |
