abstract An embodiment of the present invention provides an alarm inhibition method and an optical network device. Whether the wavelengths of the failure signals include the wavelengths of all received signals corresponding to the LOS alarm is determined by determining the wavelengths of all received signals corresponding to the LOS alarm, if yes, inhibiting the LOS alarm, if yes, inhibiting the LOS alarm. The problem of the upstream and the downstream optical network device repeatedly reporting the LOS alarm for the same failure is resolved to certain extent.
