abstract Provided are a method, device and system for achieving multicast, which relate to the field of communications. The method comprises: a conversion device acquiring a multicast message carrying multicast information sent by an OLT; according to the multicast information, determining at least one corresponding CNU; and forwarding the multicast message to the determined CNU, so as to enable the CNU, after determining at least one corresponding user terminal according to the multicast information carried in the multicast message, to forward the multicast message to the determined user terminal. According to the present invention, after a conversion device determines at least one corresponding CNU according to the multicast information carried in a multicast message sent by an OLT, and forwards the multicast message to the determined CNU, the CNU determines at least one corresponding user terminal according to the multicast information, and forwards the multicast message to the determined user terminal. Provided is a new method for achieving multicast in an EPOC system, thereby expanding the methods of achieving multicast, reducing the data traffic in a network, reducing the occupancy rate of network resources, and improving the efficiency of multicast transmission.
