abstract Embodiments of the present invention provide a channel quality reporting method, device, and system. The method comprises: determining a sending state of a downlink data stream according to indication information, sent by a base station, for indicating a channel characteristic; and when the sending state of the downlink data stream is that multiple data streams are sent, acquiring channel quality information of the multiple data streams, and sending the channel quality information to the base station. In the channel quality reporting method, device, and system provided by the embodiments of the present invention, channel information sent by a base station is received and a sending state of a downlink data stream of a physical channel is determined, channel quality information corresponding to multiple data streams is acquired when the multiple data streams are sent, and the channel quality information is reported to the base station, so that the base station can accurately select a suitable downlink data stream sending manner in the case of MIMO according to the channel quality information of the reported multiple data streams.
