Gas mixtures comprising: - pentafluoroiodoethane (C2F5I) in a concentration from 20% to 99% by weight and a gas selected from the group comprising 1-butene, isobutene, 1-pentene and their mixtures in concentrations from 80% to 1% by weight and their use as expanding gases, solvents or extinguishers as a replacement or alternative for gases or mixtures containing HFC (hydrofluorocarbons), HFO (hydrofluoro-olefins) and HFE (hydrofluoroethers) are described. |
