abstract The present invention relates to an additized bituminous binder composition comprising bitumen and at least one long-chain alkylthiol additive that permits a reduction in the manufacturing, utilization and compacting temperatures for the surfacing materials and in the mixing time, and an increase in the operational convenience of said surfacing materials. The invention also relates to methods for low-temperature production of the surfacing materials obtained from the additized bituminous binder composition. The invention relates, lastly, to the use of the additized bituminous binder composition for manufacturing more operationally convenient surfacing materials at lower temperatures and in lower mixing times, and to the use of these surfacing materials, in particular, in road application for foundation layers, base layers, lower layers and surface layers such as bonding layers and/or upper layers.
