An anti-vasohibin 2 antibody that recognizes the amino acids at the 269- to 288-positions in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2, a recombinant anti-vasohibin 2 antibody, or a fragment thereof. The anti-vasohibin 2 antibody according to the present invention is capable of recognizing vasohibin 2 protein at a high specificity and inhibiting the neovascularization promoting function of vasohibin 2 protein. Thus, a medicinal composition containing the anti-vasohibin 2 antibody is appropriately usable in, for example, treating diseases, such as cancer, where neovascularization should be inhibited. |
