abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a super absorbent resin and to a super absorbent resin prepared by same. The method for preparing a super absorbent resin according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: performing thermal polymerization or photopolymerization on a monomer composition comprising water soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomers and a polymerization initiator so as to prepare a first hydrogel polymer; performing thermal polymerization or photopolymerization on the monomer composition comprising water soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomers and the polymerization initiator so as to prepare a second hydrogel polymer; drying and grinding the first hydrogel polymer and classifying the ground first hydrogel polymer into fine powder having a particle diameter of 150 µm or less and base resin having a particle diameter of 150 µm to 850 µm; mixing the fine powder and the second hydrogel polymer so as to prepare fine powder reassortants; and mixing the fine powder reassortants and the first hydrogel polymer and drying and grinding the mixture. The second polymer has water holding capacity higher than that of the first polymer. According to the present invention, a super absorbent resin having high water holding capacity and fine powder cohesive strength can be obtained without degrading of pressurized absorptive capacity and permeability. |
