The present invention relates to an Li-Ni complex oxide particle powder the composition of which is Li x (Ni y CO 2(1-y)/5 Mn 3(1-y)/5 ) 1-z M z O 2 (1.00≤x≤1.10, 0.65<y<0.82, 0≤z≤0.05 and M is at least one type of element selected from Al, Zr and Mg) and a method for producing the same. This Li-Ni complex oxide particle powder has a high initial discharge capacity and excellent initial charge and discharge efficiency when used as a cathode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. |
