titleOfInvention Ion separation device and method consisting of magnetic field and ion exchange membranes
abstract Disclosed is an ion separation device consisting of a magnetic field and ion exchange membranes, wherein the device comprises a magnetic field, anion exchange membranes (3, 10) and cation exchange membranes (4, 9), a division plate for main fluid flow, forward and reverse channels for main fluids, and a side channel for concentrated solutions. Also disclosed is an ion separation method consisting of a magnetic field and ion exchange membranes, which method comprises: in the presence of the magnetic field, passing anions in a flowing electrolyte solution through the anion-exchange membranes (3, 10) and passing cations through the cation exchange membranes (4, 9), while cations in the electrolyte solution in an adjacent channel are passing through the cation exchange membranes (4, 9) and anions are passing through the anion-exchange membranes (3, 10); and finally achieving electrical neutralization in the highly concentrated solutions on both sides. The device and method are suitable for sea water desalination and ion separation for electrolyte-containing solutions, and can be operated continuously without the need for regeneration and desorption.
