abstract | The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a nuclear fuel based on minor plutonium oxide and/or minor actinide oxide and/or uranium comprising the following steps: a step of preparing a composite material comprising a polymer matrix and one or more compounds based on at least one element emitting γ radiation, the or said compounds being chosen from powders of uranium oxide(s), powders of plutonium oxide(s), powders of (an) oxide(s) of at least one minor actinide and mixtures of these powders, said step comprising an operation bringing into contact one or more precursor monomers of said polymer matrix, the or said monomers being polymerisable under γ radiation, and the or said aforementioned compounds for an appropriate length of time in order to obtain the polymerisation of the or said monomers and thus the formation of the composite material; a step of treating the composite material with heat so as to remove all or some of the polymer matrix of said composite material, thus leaving said nuclear fuel behind. |
