titleOfInvention System for performing micro-static tissue removal
abstract An elongated tube (12) for performing a micro-static removal of tissue from an eye of a patient defines an axis (14), and is formed with a lumen (20). At least one opening (44,50) is formed with an edge (46) at the distal end (18) of the tube (12) for interacting with tissue as tissue is drawn into the opening (44,50) while the tube (12) is vibrated at a selected repetition rate. The sheared tissue is then drawn into the central lumen (20) for the removal (aspiration) of tissue from the eye.
