The invention relates to a method for treating wastewater, especially mine water containing sulfate and/or heavy metal. The invention proceeds from a device for treating wastewater, comprising a reactor chamber (2), a recirculating device (60) which is substantially arranged in the reactor chamber (2) and is intended for recirculating the recirculation flow (46) of wastewater (10) present in the reactor chamber (2), and a support material (41) arranged in the reactor chamber (2), biomass (45) of a biofilm (44) being immobilized on said support material, and a separator through which the recirculation flow (46) flows and which is arranged in the reactor chamber (2). According to the method of the invention, a biological oxidation of the wastewater (10) is carried out (160) before the wastewater (10) is treated in the reactor chamber (2), the biological oxidation (160) of the wastewater (10) being carried out approximately at a pH of 3 and/or the biological oxidation (160) proceeding at different pH values of the wastewater (10), a specific metal in the wastewater (10) being specifically oxidized at a respective adjusted pH of the wastewater (10). |
