titleOfInvention Nuclear material detection device and nuclear material detection method
abstract This nuclear material detection device (1) comprises a neutron source (10) for generating neutrons to irradiate into a container, a detector (20) capable of detecting neutrons including primary neutrons irradiated from the neutron source and secondary neutrons generated from a fission reaction of a nuclear material (4), and a processing unit (30) for performing reactor noise analysis on the basis of data provided by the detector detecting neutrons.nThe neutron source (10) generates neutrons in a pulse form. The processing unit (30) performs reactor noise analysis on the basis of data that excludes, from the time series data provided by the detector detecting neutrons, data in the time region that contains the time while the neutron source generates neutrons in pulse form.nBy virtue of the present invention, nuclear material (4) concealed in a container (3) can be detected.
