The present invention pertains to an LCD device that uses a color filter in which a specific liquid crystal composition and a specific pigment are used. The present invention provides an LCD device that prevents increases in ion density (ID) and decreases in the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer, and resolves the issue of display defects such as white spots, uneven alignment, and burn-in. The LCD device has the feature of preventing increases in ion density (ID) and decreases in the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of the liquid crystal layer, and suppressing the occurrence of display defects such as burn-in, and therefore is particularly useful in active matrix drive VA mode, PSVA mode LCD devices, and is applicable in LCD TVs, monitors, mobile phones, smartphones, etc. |
