titleOfInvention Systems and methods for responsive neurorehabilitation
abstract This invention is directed to a system and method for responsive neurorehabilitation. Accordingly, it includes an adaptive rehabilitation controller comprising an adaptive feature extractor and an adaptive motor decoder. The adaptive feature extractor is configured to receive at least one neural signal from a user's brain, wherein the adaptive feature extractor includes at least one feature. The adaptive feature extractor is configured to transmit at least one feature associated with at least one neural signal to the adaptive motor decoder. The adaptive motor decoder is configured to map the feature to a control signal of a rehabilitation device. The adaptive rehabilitation controller outputs the signal and receives a sensory feedback signal from the user. The adaptive feature extractor then transmits feedback features associated with the sensory feedback to the adaptive motor decoder. Finally, the adaptive motor decoder readjusts its internal parameters based on the feedback features received.
