titleOfInvention Alignment layer material for use in liquid crystal display device
abstract Provided in the present invention is an alignment layer material for use in a liquid crystal display device, comprising a solvent and a polymer dissolved in the solvent. The polymer comprises a main chain and a first side chain connected to the main chain, where the first side chain is provided with an increased lateral dipole moment. The molecular structure of the polymer in the alignment layer material of the present invention for use in the liquid crystal display device is characterized in that the first side chain having flexible and rigid segments at the same time is attached onto the main chain of the polymer, and that the first side chain is provided with the increased lateral dipole moment, capable of initiating rotary and tilting movements under the effect of an electrical field, thus allowing for exertion of a pretilt angle alignment effect for the liquid crystal molecules. In terms of multi-angle alignment and relative to a polymer-stabilized vertical alignment technology, the present invention simplifies the manufacturing process, forms an alignment film surface of increased smoothness, and is of reduced light leakage and of increased liquid crystal panel contrast, thus increasing the optical performance of the liquid crystal panel.
