titleOfInvention Stereoselective method for the electrochemical synthesis of 3-(2-propinoxy)-2-propenoic acid or mixtures of said acid and propargylic alcohol
abstract The invention relates to a method for the synthesis of 3-(2-propinoxy)-2-propenoic acid or mixtures of said acid and propargylic alcohol by means of two consecutive electrolysis processes in the same electrolysis cell containing separation means and an anode consisting of a material containing nickel, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) a nickel hydroxyoxide anode is obtained by means of a first electrolysis in an aqueous solution of alkaline metal hydroxide where the anode must be nickel or a material containing nickel, b) 3-(2-propinoxy)-2-propenoic acid is obtained by subjecting an aqueous solution of alkaline metal hydroxide and propargylic alcohol to a second electrolysis, c) the 3-(2-propinoxy)-2-propenoic acid obtained in step b) is acidified with mineral acids diluted to a pH of 4.
