abstract The present invention relates to a hard coating for a cutting tool, the coating having repeated layers of a nano multilayer structure in which a complex nitride layer of Ti and Al which has excellent abrasion resistance, a complex nitride layer of Al, Ti and Cr which has excellent lubrication, a complex nitride layer of Nb or V which has excellent impact resistance and chipping resistance, and a complex nitride layer of Al, Ti and Si which has excellent oxidation resistance are layered in order, thus evenly improving various properties required for a hard coating for a cutting tool, such as abrasion resistance, lubrication, impact resistance, chipping resistance and oxidation resistance, and thus the coating can be used in the processing of material that is difficult to cut.
