abstract |
The present invention provides a means and method useful in the measurement of the concentration of all branched-chain amino acids. Specifically, the invention provides a modified enzyme in which at least one amino acid residue has been varied so as to improve the properties of leucine dehydrogenase as relates to the measurement of all branched-chain amino acids (e.g., substrate specificity of leucine dehydrogenase relative to all branched-chain amino acids, activity of leucine dehydrogenase relative to a given branched-chain amino acid, and heat stability of leucine dehydrogenase); a method for analyzing all branched-chain amino acids including measuring all branched-chain amino acids contained in a test sample using this modified enzyme, and the like. |
