The method utilises the different inclusion capability of cyclodextrin to acetophenone and α-methyl benzoic alchohol and can achieve the selective separation thereof under mild conditions. The present invention has advantages such as having mild separating conditions, good separation effects, a simple process, a reusable separating medium, and being energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
