| abstract | Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for using a broadband network gateway, which relate to the field of communications technologies, and are capable of making the entire network more stable. The method comprises: an original BNG receiving load information sent by all other BNGs in a preset BNG set except the original BNG; determining a load amount to be migrated, a migration manner and a destination migration BNG according to the load information of all other BNGs and load information of the original BNG, so that after the original BNG migrates the load amount to be migrated according to the migration manner and the destination migration BNG, the load amount between the original BNG and the destination migration BNG is balanced; and performing load migration between the original BNG and the destination migration BNG according to the load amount to be migrated and the migration manner. The present invention is mainly used for load migration between BNGs. |
