abstract The present invention provides a connector configured so that a male connector and the flow passage of a housing are reliably connected without causing the front end of the male connector to penetrate through a valve body and so that the tear of the slit of the valve body is minimized or prevented. This connector is provided with a housing and a valve body. The housing has a flow passage and a male-connector connection section which connects to the flow passage. The valve body is formed in a substantially solid cylindrical shape and has a top surface which is exposed from the male-connector connection section, a bottom surface which is located on the side opposite the top surface, and a slit which opens at at least the top surface or the bottom surface. The housing has an engagement section which engages with the front end of the male connector and which defines the insertion length of the male connector.
