abstract The present invention is an illumination device (1) for tumor detection which improves the visibility of tumors in which a fluorescent substance has accumulated, and for emitting excitation light for the fluorescent substance which has been accumulated in the tumor. The device is provided with: a light emitting diode (7) that emits light having substantially the same wavelength as the excitation wavelength of the fluorescent substance; and a blocking member (8) that is provided to the light-emission side of the light emitting diode (7) and blocks a wavelength corresponding to at least part of the excitation wavelength of the fluorescent substance.
