titleOfInvention Use of an aqueous composition, made of an optionally organically coated nano metal powder of at least one element from group ib of the transition metals or an alloy of said elements with one another and optionally hydrogen peroxide, as a biocide
abstract The invention relates to a use of an aqueous composition as a biocide, which composition contains an active quantity of an optionally organically coated metal powder of at least one element from group IB of the transition metals having a purity of at least 90%, preferably 99%, or an alloy of said elements that contains said element as the main component thereof, wherein the particle size of the metal powder lies below 1250 nm, preferably below 200 nm, optionally together with hydrogen peroxide having conventional auxiliaries and additives. Said composition is further substantially less corrosive with respect to materials than the hydrogen peroxide that is currently used.
