abstract |
A liquid-crystalline polyester multifilament in which the degree of fusion among single fibers ranges from 0 to 20. A method for producing a liquid-crystalline polyester multifilament, in which a fusion inhibitor is adhered onto the fiber surfaces of melt-spun liquid-crystalline polyester multifilament in a melt-spinning step and/or a rewinding step, wherein the adhesion of the fusion inhibitor is carried out from directions that are different from each other by 90 to 180˚ on a plane perpendicular to the filament-running direction.nIt becomes possible to provide a liquid-crystalline polyester multifilament in which the fusion among single fibers occurs in a significantly reduced degree compared with those in conventional techniques. |
