abstract Provided is a technology for the production of an outer tube for a pre-filled syringe having high transparency and produced by using a cyclic olefin resin as a raw material therefor. In the method for producing the outer tube for a pre-filled syringe formed by injection molding a cyclic olefin resin composition, the surface roughness of the core of an injection molding mold, for molding the outer tube for the pre-filled syringe, is adjusted to a specific range, and an outer tube for the pre-filled syringe is produced that has a light ray transmittance of at least 70% when light having a wavelength of 450 nm vertically incident to the side wall of the outer tube of the pre-filled syringe has passed through said side wall.
