A process for producing a tire component is provided. The process comprises blending an elastomeric composition containing at least one non- fibril cellulose ester, at least one primary elastomer, and one or more fillers, wherein the elastomeric composition exhibits a dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) strain sweep modulus as measured at 5% strain and 30 °C of at least 1,450,000 Pa and a molded groove tear as measured according to ASTM D624 of at least 120 Ibf/in. |
