abstract A system is disclosed for measuring the hydrocarbon content of mineral ores, in particular pyrobituminous shale, allowing the processing conditions of said mineral ores to be preset while they are still being conveyed in the conveyor or production system. The system comprises an arrangement of apparatuses combined so as to create a particular time offset between the times when the water content, material density and hydrogen content of the mineral ore are measured, allowing the collected data to be processed in a microprocessor and the processing conditions of the mineral ore to be adjusted in real time on the basis of the calculated hydrocarbon content.
