abstract | A light-emitting device (10) is provided with: a substrate (11); a light-emitting region comprising a first electrode layer (anode layer) (12) formed on the substrate (11), a dielectric layer (13) formed directly on the first electrode layer (12) or formed thereon with another layer interposed therebetween, a second electrode layer (cathode layer) (14) formed directly on the dielectric layer (13) or formed thereon with another layer interposed therebetween, a plurality of recess sections (16) penetrating the first electrode layer (12) and/or the second electrode layer (14) and the dielectric layer (13), and a light-emitting section (17) that is formed in contact with the first electrode layer (12) and the second electrode layer (14), and in contact with at least the first electrode layer (12) and the dielectric layer (13) within the recess sections (16); and a terminal section (anode terminal section) (15) that is formed outside the light-emitting region, and that connects whichever of the first electrode layer (12) and the second electrode layer (14) has a higher sheet resistance to a power supply. In the light-emitting region, the plurality of recess sections (16) are formed such that the sum, per unit area, of the lengths of the contours of the planar shapes of the recess sections (16) on the upper face of the dielectric layer (13) increases from regions near the terminal section (15) towards regions far from the terminal section (15). |
