abstract The present invention relates to a polyolefin composition with improved pressure resistance as well as impact properties, especially rapid crack propagation resistance, while properties such as slow crack growth resistance, processability, tensile modulus, short term pressure resistance and sagging resistance are maintained at a high level. The polyolefin composition comprises a base resin which comprises a first ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction (A) and a second ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction (B), wherein fraction (A) has a lower molecular weight than fraction (B), and fraction (A) has a MFR2 of not more than 100 g/10 min. The present invention further relates to a process for producing such a polyethylene composition and to the use of the above polyethylene composition for the production of an article, preferably a pipe or a fitting.
