abstract The invention relates to a drug for the treatment of a respiratory tract infection selected from the group comprising rhinosinusitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome, said drug containing glutaryl histamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an effective amount. The invention also concerns the use of glutaryl histamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in the production of a drug for the treatment of a respiratory tract infection. Said drug makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of antibacterial therapy in the treatment of respiratory tract infections.
