A carbonic anhydrase inhibitor which comprises a compound of general formula: R 1 R 2 N-CS 2 n - M + for use in the treatment of microbial infection, eye disease or cancer; wherein R 1 and R 2 are each independently selected from H or an organic substituent, or together form a ring, and optionally contain one or more heteroatoms; wherein R and R 2 together comprise at least 5 carbon atoms or at least 2 carbon atoms and a heteroatom, or R 2 comprises at least 4 carbon atoms; and wherein M + comprises a monovalent cation. |
