The present invention relates to a peptide for synthesizing silica and to the use thereof, and more particularly, to a peptide for synthesizing silica which is capable of polymerizing silica from silica precursors in the presence of an aqueous solution under the conditions of room temperature, normal pressure, and a near-neutral weak base. The peptide for synthesizing silica may form a self-assembled structure during silica synthesis, and therefore can be used as various biomaterials such as a silica-based protein immobilizer, a biosensor, and a drug delivery carrier. |
