Provided is a honeycomb filter that, while minimizing the increase in pressure loss, is able to accumulate a large maximum amount of soot, and offer high durability. The honeycomb filter (100) is equipped with: a honeycomb structure (4) of cylindrical shape having porous divider walls (1) for partitioning and forming a plurality of cells (2) extending from one end surface to the other end surface as flow channels for a fluid; and sealing portions (5) arranged at one open end of a predetermined cell (2a) and the other open end of a remaining cell, wherein the porosity of the divider walls (1) is 46% or less, the permeability of the honeycomb structure (4) is 0.8 µm 2 or greater, the pore volume ratio of pores 40 µm and greater in size is 7.5% or less, the pore volume ratio of pores 10 µm and smaller in size is 25% or less, and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the honeycomb structure (4) from 40ºC to 800ºC is 1.0 x 10 -6 /ºC. |
