abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for producing polyphenolic compounds, i.e. phloroglucinol or a derivative thereof, using a type III polyketide synthase (PKSIII) of a marine brown alga. The invention also relates to recombinant nucleic acids encoding a type III polyketide synthase (PKSIII) of the brown alga Ectocarpus siliculosus (E. siliculosus) , to recombinant vectors comprising these nucleic acids, and also to host cells comprising these vectors. Finally, the invention relates to a method for preparing various compounds by means of the polyphenolic compounds produced according to the abovementioned method. |
