abstract The present invention relates to a composition containing STP-1, a bacteriophage isolated from nature, capable of infecting Salmonella Typhimurium so as to kill the same as an active ingredient, and a method for preventing and treating Salmonella Typhimurium infection using the composition. According to the present invention, the bacteriophage STP-1, an active ingredient of the composition, has a killing activity against Salmonella Typhimurium and has the genome represented by SEQ ID NO:1.
