This invention relates to a method for detecting or inspecting colorectal cancer or esophageal cancer with high detection sensitivity and accuracy and with minimal invasiveness to a subject. Specifically, the invention relates to a method for inspecting cancer, the method involving: measuring, in vitro, the COTL1 protein in a body fluid sample taken from a subject; and, on the basis of the amount of said protein, evaluating whether or not the subject is affected by cancer. The invention also relates to a kit for diagnosing colorectal cancer or esophageal cancer, the kit comprising an antibody that can specifically bind to said protein, or a fragment of the antibody. |
