abstract The invention relates to a method for identifying an individual. The individual has at least one physical print. The at least one physical print includes at least one fingerprint. The print marking step consists of either affixing at least one material particle onto a surface of the at least one physical print and/or below the surface of the at least one physical print, or modifying a surface of the at least one physical print by means of an electromagnetic radiation. The invention also pertains to a corresponding device for identifying an individual.
