abstract The present invention relates to a method for determining whether an individual has, or is at increased risk of, a chronic sequela as a result of Chlamydia trachomatis infection. The method comprises detecting Pgp3 or anti-Pgp 3 antibodies in a sample from the individual. The presence of Pgp3 or anti-Pgp 3 antibodies in the sample indicates that the individual has, or is at increased risk of, chronic sequelae as a result of Chlamydia trachomatis infection.
