titleOfInvention | Pixel driver circuit for organic electro - luminescent display |
abstract | A drive circuit for an OLED comprises: a capacitor having a first terminal and a second terminal, the second terminal connected to an OLED element; a voltage source adapted to selectively provide a control voltage V P lower than the switch on voltage of the OLED element to the second terminal of the capacitor; and a voltage square wave signal source adapted to provide a square wave voltage signal alternating between a high voltage V H and a low voltage V L to the first terminal of the capacitor- The voltage source provides the control voltage V P to the second terminal of the capacitor when the square wave voltage signal provided to the first terminal of the capacitor is at the low voltage VL; and when the square wave voltage signal provided to the first terminal of the capacitor increases to the high voltage V H , the voltage at the second terminal of the capacitor is increased to a voltage higher than the switch on voltage of the OLED element so that the OLED element emits light. |
